DESIGNING AROUND THE AGA
This was a wonderful project to be involved with. Mr and Mrs Cheeseman were refurbishing their stunning country cottage in the picturesque village of Llanblethain, near Cowbridge South Wales. When they first began exploring the concept of a new kitchen, they were very open to lots of creative ideas. However, there were a few factors that had a bearing over what could ultimately be achieved. Firstly, there was the fact that this was a period cottage that demanded a more traditional design. Additionally, the old Aga stove was to remain at the heart of the room.
The final design was a traditional in-frame kitchen with oak timber doors painted in a light blue finish. Classic doors were used on some of the cabinets and additional lighting was implemented to enhance the look. Mr and Mrs Cheeseman didn’t want to rely totally on the Aga stove and so a small induction hob was fitted to the left of the Aga, as well as modern ovens within the full height cabinets to the rear of the kitchen.
